Testimonials

Where to start? What’s not to like? From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave it is hard not to smile the entire time. The warm welcome, the great facilities, our lovely fellow campers, all perfect. There’s a great attitude at the heart of Thistledown that puts the camping experience at the top of the list… So stop reading this and pack your tent!

We have found as close to perfection in our eyes as you are ever going to get for camping. It is not for a place for those who want loud music. It is not a place for those who want a club house on site. The pastures are not places for those who want to have car next to them for ease of unpacking… wheel barrowing everything is all part of the fun and you really appreciate the fact the children are free and safe to roam wherever they want.
We love this place! We will be back!

Stayed here for 4 days, did not want to come home. Pitches are so far apart, you feel like you’re the only ones there. The owners were very friendly and helpful. They views were lovely and being so close to animals was really nice. But by far, our favourite thing were the composting toilets. They were an awesome experience and didn’t smell at all, even in all this heat. Loved every minute here!

Never done a review before, but this place is fantastic. Just returned from a two night stay. Beautiful weather, views to die for and a top weekend. Kids loved the loos ..very clean even in the baking heat. Owners very friendly. Will be heading back soon. believe all the reviews they’re true!!

Spent 4 days last week at Thistledown and have to say we had a wonderful time. Friendly owners, loads of space, tranquil, peaceful and beautiful.

Compost loos were great – kids loved it, showers hot, facilities super clean. Masses of space for the kids to run and plenty of privacy.

Lovely walks from the camping fields, and Nailsworth is a delightful little town just a few minutes drive away.

Would recommend this campsite 100%
